What did I do this past week?

This week was a nightmare… in a good way and a bad way. Halloween weekend means lots of costumes and fun! But this was also the busiest academic week of the year for me. The project getting extended actually hurt my productivity this week. My group and I probably could have worked hard to get the project done on time, but we kind of just relaxed and saved it for the next day when we heard the news that it got pushed back. I had a bunch of other projects to do, it was too much honestly. Thankfully my professor in another class gave me a 4 day extension on one of them.

What is in my way?

Honestly I just need to catch up on sleep; I had way too much to do this past week and I stayed up way too late this weekend. It’s a pretty easy problem to have haha. Other than that, I need to plan out exactly how I’m going to use my virtual tokens. I’m thinking I’ll just go for a B in the class and spend the tokens to bump it up to an A-.

What will I do next week?

Next week is catching up on my other classes and starting my job search. I have been way too busy with school to be in the game for looking for a job. I’m going to graduate next semester and I need to have a plan or at least some good options for after school. Finally, I have two music projects to do this week. I have to transcribe a piano piece into a score for a handful of woodwinds. The other project is a sound engineering recording. I a trying to recreate Surf by Mac Miller.

What did I think of the Paper #10: Dependency Inversion Principle?

The Dependency Inversion Principle was yet another extension of the other principles that we learned about this semester. The Open-Closed principle is pretty similar to the Dependency Inversion Principle. It essentially just makes sure that the authority and the direction of the commands are lined up properly.

What was your experience of =, *, ** and regular expressions?

These expressions are in other languages as well as python. ** is essentially just the exponent expression. All the others are simple enough, but I didn’t quite understand regular expressions.

What made me happy this week?

I had a bunch of friends over on Friday night. I wasn’t expecting as many people to come, people showed up! Also the cowboys won without Dak! Also, I had a little throwback to my childhood and got my face painted at costume party. It was a nice little remind of how simple life can be.

What is my Tip-Of-The-Week?

There are some good food trucks right outside of the PCL. My favorite is the Gyro truck. There’s also a noodle truck that gives you a lot of food. I think it’s something like $8 for at least two full meals worth of food.
